Bag And Bored Comics

CONTENTIOUS OBJECTORS

I’m going to attempt to put a finer point on this issue.  No one is saying you have to like the idea of the ‘Watchmen’ prequels:  The word ‘acquiesce’ rarely enters the average comic fans’ brainwaves.  Mostly its just words like ‘Bendis’, and ‘Cheetos’.  But you CAN choose to ignore them.  The assertion that these somehow sully the name of the iconic tome is pooping-in-your-own-hand crazy.  I’ll be the first to admit that ‘Caddyshack 2’ is a virtual rape of ones eyeballs, but it would NEVER tarnish the original.  So I’m able to maintain my sanity in the face of this unimaginable tragedy.  So everyone take a puff off your inhaler and maybe point your righteous indignation at something more worthwhile.

Is that Kony guy still alive?  Start there.

THE GREEN BICYCLE

She Hulk, Cousin of Bruce Banner and otherwise known as Jennifer Walters, attorney-at-law, has been one of my favorites ever since I read the Peter David run a few years back.  She’s a strong female character with a strong sexual identity, a comic any reader, (male or female), could respect and enjoy.  Seriously, if you haven’t, take the time to give it a read. You’ll agree with me.

Having said my peace, a reputation like hers is certainly tough to live down.  Especially since the only fuzzy green thing that gets tossed around more is when I wash my sons Kermit the Frog doll.

 See? It’s almost involuntary.

WORTHWHILE PURSUITS

The puerile exercises below are only part of the reason we’ve been away for so long.  But in the context of a three panel webcomic (which is in itself a puerile exercise) we decided it was easier to “play to the crowd”, and make fun of our more accessible addictions.

The real reason we took a three-month hiatus?  Shame.  We had some great ideas about what we wanted Bag And Bored to be, and in truth, we weren’t even living up to our expectations, let alone anyone else’s.  But the salient point is:  We’re Back.  We finally have some comics we’re proud of, and a lot of surprises (and content) coming up!  You’ll get a comic every Wednesday, and we’re going to try to post my articles and Dann’s artwork as often as possible.  Thanks for coming back, and for you first timers out there, don’t worry, it’s only going to get better from here!

PERPLEX THE ODDS: part 2

I’m trying my best to carve a cohesive narrative out of all this madness. Dann’s obsession with opposing forces of Action Figures mystifies me, yet I’m strangely drawn to this black hole of Nerdiness, an irresistible force of nature, from which not even light itself can escape.

On a side note I’ve been experimenting with different tools for inking some things I like some things I Dislike but in the next few weeks somethings might start to look different im trying to find something I’m happy with that doesn’t take too much more time.
thanks
-Dann!

PERPLEX THE ODDS: part 1

I try to indulge Dann as often as possible, and when he began to wax rhapsodic about the Heroclix phenomenon, I tried my best to remain respectful. If you’re not familiar with the concept, it’s a luxurious blend of action-figure shame crossed with the vagina-repellent of tabletop gaming. But I’m not here to judge. I’m here to watch the carnage. Like NASCAR, but more inhalers and fewer boobs.
